About Laura Redmond

Founder, Redmond Accounting

In 2005, Laura Redmond set out on her own and founded Redmond Accounting. The firm and its very first client were on QuickBooks Online. As Redmond grew, they had clients who used different accounting software programs – QuickBooks Desktop, Peachtree, Netsuite, and so on. But by 2010, they had narrowed their focus to only QuickBooks Online. It was their favorite accounting tool by far, and by this time, they were experts and had worked out the best workflow for an accounting department using the features offered by a cloud-based platform.

Redmond Accounting has been mastering the paperless, cloud-based accounting department workflow for over a decade and a half. And during that time, they’ve helped thousands of accounting professionals do the same. Redmond acts as the accounting department for each of their clients. They are different from other types of accounting firms that offer tax or audit services. Redmond Accounting acts as the bookkeeper, controller, and sometimes even the CFO for businesses year-round.

Accounting App Developer

During these early years of advocating for the cloud-accounting model, and moving our clients’ accounting infrastructures online, Laura and her team built a workflow management system to help keep track of client work and accounting processes. Redmond Accounting uses that tool to this day to manage their client work.

Redmond called the app they built Aero Workflow and it eventually was spun off as a separate company. It is now used by accounting firms and accounting departments all around the world to manage their cloud accounting workflow.

Member of Intuit’s Trainer/Writer Network

Intuit has a program for accounting professionals who are in the business of servicing multiple business clients called the ProAdvisor program. There are more than 400,000 ProAdvisors in the world! These are professionals trained in both accounting and QuickBooks.

Laura is a certified ProAdvisor, but she is also a member of Intuit’s invitation-only Trainer / Writer Network. This group is composed of accounting professionals who provide training and write articles about QuickBooks.

She is also one of a few members of the Trainer/Writer Network who write the training certification program and who teach live training events to the greater ProAdvisor membership. She co-authored the QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification programs and has taught live QuickBooks Online courses to accounting professionals at national conferences, local events, and virtual webinars.
